Dr. Michael Day, DC — Founder, Mountain Movement Center

Dr. Michael Day is more than a chiropractor, movement specialist, and functional nutritionist — he is a living testimony to the idea that healing is possible even when every system seems broken. As the founder of Mountain Movement Center, he has built a practice rooted in both the science of recovery and the deeper truths of identity, purpose, and faith.

From Brokenness to Purpose

For years, Dr. Day wrestled with relentless chronic fatigue, debilitating pain, migraines, and disc injury. Conventional medicine offered little more than symptom suppression, and many doors led to dead ends. During this crucible, he discovered that real healing would demand a new paradigm — one that honors the body’s innate ability to heal, while also reckoning with the emotional, spiritual, and neurological dimensions of suffering. He came to see that the doctors who had walked through their own trials become the most compassionate, creative, and persistent healers. From Brokenness to Purpose

Mountain Movement is Dr. Day’s answer to a deep longing: to create a “lighthouse of hope” for people in Greenville’s Upstate and beyond. He saw too many patients who felt like their bodies had betrayed them, who’d been told they’d never return to their sport, or who’d been lost in the gaps of modern healthcare. The center’s name is inspired by faith that moves mountains — a biblical metaphor turned literal in mission: trusting God and the innate healing of our body and his purpose as we heal.

His vision is that through expertly delivered natural health care (chiropractic, movement, functional medicine) — done at the level of professionalism, focus, and precision that patients expect in mainstream medical fields — Mountain Movement can become a model for what true integrative care looks like.

Intersecting Sports, Science & Spirit

Long before founding the center, Dr. Day cut his teeth in elite athletic circles. He treated pro golfers, paddlers, triathletes, and surfers in California, immersing himself in the best practices of sports medicine. That athletic experience, combined with a deep dive into functional medicine, gives him a unique vantage point: he sees movement not just as joints and muscles, but as signals of systemic health — neurologic, metabolic, emotional, even spiritual.

He believes the body, brain, and spirit are inseparable. A stuck muscle may carry emotional tension; a chronically fatigued system may hide spiritual disconnection. Functional medicine can help “ignite dormant signals” — using lifestyle, food, targeted supplementation, and detoxification — but it must be married to movement and neurologic re-patterning.

Over time, Dr. Day has positioned chiropractors, movement specialists, and functional medicine practitioners to be spoken of in the same breath as cardiologists or endocrinologists. In his view, the nervous system is the bridge between all body systems, and its optimization is central to restoring health and resilience.

Mission & Promise

Dr. Day’s mission is simple but bold: to help as many people as possible live full, vibrant lives — so they can impact others, experience joy, and move freely again. He yearns to see people restored in body, mind, and spirit, not just treated.

For those who have lost hope, for those who have been failed by modern healthcare, and for those who feel their spark has been extinguished, Mountain Movement Center stands as a beacon. Here, science, movement, and faith coexist. Here, natural health care meets excellence. Here, the weary find restoration — and the broken, a path to wholeness.
